Mary's on 2nd becomes Together on 2nd in Davenport

DAVENPORT — Together On 2nd is the new name for the former Mary’s on 2nd, which wrapped up 25 years  serving Quad Cities’ LGBTQ+ community earlier this week. New owner Matt Maslowski began circulating the new name and logo this weekend, along with pictures of renovations happening at the building at 832 W. 2nd St. Former owner Bobby Stansberry, who has worked in the bar business for 47 years (including 25 at Mary’s) accepted Maslowski’s offer in February to buy the building. In the rebranded bar’s Facebook page, Maslowski describes Together on 2nd as a “community-driven bar built on connection and inclusion.” The renovated space is expected to re-open within a few weeks.

Seed library now open at Rock Island Public Library branches

ROCK ISLAND — Everyone can have five free packets of seeds, courtesy of the 2026 Seed Library of Rock Island Public Libraries. The packets are available at all three library branches (downtown, Watts-Midtown, and the Southwest branch) and feature “open-pollinated and heirloom seeds” that promote “locally adapted plant varieties” and “preserve genetic diversity.” In addition to a starting supply of five free seed packets per household, the library also provides a “growing guide,” also available physically at the branches, along with a catalog of seeds to help you choose your packets.Â
