
Clock Inc. honors Transgender Day of Visibiity Saturday
ROCK ISLAND — Support services, style education, resources and more will be available at Clock Inc.’s LGBT+ Community Center tomorrow for Transgender Day of Visibility. Learn masculine, feminine, and nonbinary haircuts from professional stylists, shop the gender-affirming closet or get professional photos taken. Speakers will educate attendees on topics like wigs, makeup, and chest-binding. Snacks are provided by Free Mom Hugs. Kids, families invited to East Moline for Bilingual Storytime in Spanish, English
EAST MOLINE — Children and adults tagging along with them can enjoy storytime in both Spanish and English at the East Moline Public Library Saturday. A volunteer will read “Hermana Pegajosa” by Ana Siqueria, also called “Sticky Hermana” in English. The book is about two sisters who argue, make up, and get into a sticky situation with bubblegum. Spanish Bilingual Storytime is at 11 a.m. at the library, 745 16th Ave.; stick around for a related craft activity afterwards.Pre-registration is required here, and you can register right up until 11 a.m.

STEAM Afternoon at Putnam melds science, music, arts, hands-on learning
DAVENPORT — Music therapy, live ballet and violins, and hands-on education for youngsters are what families can find Saturday at Putnam Museum and Science Center’s STEAM Afternoon. Chemistry for Kids, a performance by Ballet Quad Cities, a viewing of the Violins of Hope that survived the Holocaust, and a presentation by Quad Cities Music Therapy are all part of an afternoon that melds science, technology, engineering, art, and math with creativity and kid-friendly experimentation. The event is 1 to 3 p.m., and all activities are free with admission to the museum at 1717 W 12th St.
