Free intro to shamanic spirituality Thursday

BETTENDORF — A global shamanist whose greatest inspiration is a near-death experience in 1973 will offer a free introduction Thursday evening to his upcoming workshop on “Being a Channel for Spirit.”  Robert Dubiel, who now tours the world as a shaman specializing in past-life regression and soul retrieval, will talk at 7 p.m. at My Crystal Portal about being a conduit for energy and spirits. He’ll delve deeper into those topics during the actual workshop 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, also at My Crystal Portal, for which admission is $60 and pre-registration is requested. Dubiel will also be available for personal readings by appointment from Thursday to Sunday. Larger-sized women's clothing donations sought

DAVENPORT — A Quad Cities nonprofit that provides professional clothing to job-seekers and others who need it is putting out a call for donations. Dress for Success-Quad Cities is especially in need of gently used larger-sized blouses, cardigans, blazers, dress pants and dresses. You can bring your donation to the Dress for Success donation center by appointment every weekday except Tuesday, when you can drop by in person from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 423 East 32nd St., Davenport.
