Pride Before the Fall wrestling show to benefit Rainbow Cafe

CARTERVILLE — Watch professional wrestlers from the LGBTQ+ owned Ignite Pro Wrestling and help raise money for Rainbow Cafe at Pride Before the Fall Saturday. You can see a contender match for the heavyweight championship, a triple-threat match, a dog-collar match, wrestler debuts and more. A silent auction will have items provided by Southern Illinois businesses. The traveling GeGe’s Food Cart will provide comfort food. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10; the front row is sold out. Pride Before the Fall is at Ignite Arena, 512 S. Jackson St.

Share books at Pride month swap in Belleville

BELLEVILLE — Bring as many books as you’d like to share and take as many as you want at a Book Swap at Belleville Books, 20 E Main St. Sunday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. The book swap is co-hosted by Metro East Pride of Southwest Illinois (MEPSI) and the Friends of Dorothy Book Group. All genres and reading levels are welcome. Any books left over will be donated to the Metro East Literacy Project. The book swap will be outside, weather permitting.

Columbia & Waterloo Pride fest returns for second year

COLUMBIA — Find live music, drag, vendors and more at Columbia and Waterloo’s second annual combined Pride festival from 12 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Democratic candidate for Illinois District 12 Julie Fortier will kick off the festival with a  speech. Food and drinks will be provided by the Columbia-based PAWZ Bar and Grill and Black Cat Coffee. Host Colton Wilson said in a Facebook post that this festival will be bigger and better than the inaugural one last year.  Join the festival at 9600 D Rd.
