
Oskaloosa Pride proceeds Saturday over religious objection
OSKALOOSA — The second annual Pride in the Square by Oskaloosa Pride will proceed tomorrow from 1 to 8 p.m., over the objections of a local religious group. Fathers for Faith and Freedom raised concerns about drag shows at the Pride festival at a city council meeting Wednesday (KCCI). Oskaloosa Mayor David Krutzfeldt said the event is allowed under city ordinance, and that the organizers had the proper permission for the festival. In addition to drag, tomorrow features vendors, food, live music, and family-friendly activities. The event is in downtown Oskaloosa. The event is free.

Pride edition of LGBTQIA+ Meet & Greet in Iowa City Saturday
IOWA CITY — The monthly gathering of the Iowa City LGBTQ+ Group at Press Coffee will have an extra “Pride” vibe tomorrow. Titled the LGBTQIA+ Meet & Greet, this gathering is an opportuntiy for “support and friendship,” plus sharing of resources and hosting local events.Head to Saturday’s gathering from 4 to 6 p.m. at Press Coffee, 1120 N. Dodge St.

More than a dozen performers, 80 vendors in DBQ Pride Saturday
DUBUQUE — A drag cabaret, silly stories in song, comedy and live music, and queer joy await at the free Dubuque Pride Festival on Saturday noon to 5 p.m. Enjoy 15 entertainment acts on two stages, five food trucks, and over 80 vendors, including Dubuque businesses, artisans, services and nonprofits. Arts and crafts stations, face painting, and bouncy houses will also be available. Find the festival at Town Clock Plaza, 680 Main St. DBQ Pride is also hosting an after party fundraiser at ReveLuna, 197 Main St., from 5 to 7 p.m. and co-hosting an after party show at Dimensional Brewing Company, 67 Main St. from 5 to 10 p.m.
