
8th Annual Burlington Pride back at Crapo Park shelter
BURLINGTON — An intimate Pride celebration returns to its original location Saturday when Burlington Pride in the Park takes place at the big shady shelter in Crapo Park. This eighth annual event has drawn anywhere from 200 to 1,000 throughout its history. The event includes a group human parade around the lake, and a pet parade; a 69-vendor resource fair; live entertainment all day; plus kids’ fun, food trucks, and more. The fun is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Crapo Park, 2600 Madison Ave.; this event is free.

Make & Take Rainbow Bracelets at Beadology Iowa
IOWA CITY — Want to wear a new accessory to the dozens of Pride events still to come this summer? Head to Beadology Iowa throughout the day Saturday (no reservation needed) to make your own rainbow chain maille bracelet. For $18, you’ll receive all materials and help from staff in DIY jewelry-making — plus a portion of proceeds benefits the Iowa Trans Mutual Aid Fund. Beadology Iowa is at xxxxx Clinton St., and Saturday’s “make and take” special is available from 10 a.m. o xxxxxx.

Weekly meditation coming Monday at Prairie Woods
HIAWATHA — Settle your soul and nerves with a meditation session guided by Rev. Jean Sullivan of the Prairie Woods Franciscan Spirituality Center. All spiritualities and experience levels are welcome at this weekly gathering, happening 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Each session features a brief sharing introduction, 20 minutes of silent meditation, and closing discussion. The center is a nonprofit focused on “ecology, spirituality and holistic health.” It’s located at 120 E. Boyson Rd., Hiawatha. A $5 donation is requested but not required; registration is also requested here, but not required.
