Pride 5K and Pride Party at Bass Street Landing Saturday
MOLINE — Saturday is all about The Project of the Quad Cities, with its annual Pride 5K/10K/Walk kicking off the day at 8 a.m. and its annual Pride Party at Bass Street Landing happening from 3 to 10 p.m. You can still sign up for the race/walk from now until start time 8 a.m. Saturday; registration is from $28 to $40 with proceeds benefitting TPQC’s HIV prevention and treatment, gender transition care, LGBTQ+ health care, and harm reduction services. The Pride Party starts at 3 p.m. with live music by the Quad Cities-based band BTDT, with drag by more than a dozen local artists from 6 to 10 p.m. and vendors packing the Bass Landing courtyard throughout the event. Humane Society overflowing, adoption fees waived
DAVENPORT — Adoption fees at the Humane Society of Scott County are waived through July 3, as the shelter tries to encourage more adoptions and relieve intense overcrowding. Efforts are underway to reach 200 total adoptions for the month of June, too. In addition, the shelter is putting out a call for kitten foster families; the shelter announced June 19 it had received 113 kittens younger than three months in less than three weeks. Art auction to benefit Clock Inc. all day today
DAVENPORT — Today’s your chance to bid on more than 130 pieces of artwork by both amateur and professional artists, plus two historic signs from the former Mary’s on 2nd LGBTQ+ bar. It’s the annual art auction to raise money for Clock Inc. LGBT Community Center in Rock Island, which provides counseling, support groups, social events, a gender-affirming clothing closet and more to the Quad Cities region. You can attend the art auction today in person from 4 to 8 p.m. at Figge Art Museum, 225 W. 2nd St., with the sign auction happening live from 6:30 to 7 p.m.Â
