DAVENPORT — Argrow’s House offers a weekly chance to stimulate your mind while also creating inspirational wall art for shelters, with Puzzle & Pie Wednesdays. Swing by Argrow’s Cafe, 3811 Harrison St., Ste. 100, anytime from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Wednesday. You’ll help complete puzzles with inspirational messages, to be donated to area domestic violence shelters. "Community is Us" for housing raises $2.7 million in a day
DAVENPORT — The Quad Cities has a couple million dollars more to address a 40 percent increase in homelessness. The Humility Homes and Services nonprofit raised $2.7 million within a day of starting the “Community Is Us” campaign March 26, reports KWQC. Humility says the funds will go toward improving buildings it purchased within the past two years for housing, and to hire more staff. Historic Orpheum Theater restoration holds raffle
MOLINE — Help restore the historic Orpheum Theater by donating to a raffle to win a six-night luxury resort stay for two in the Dominican Republican. The theater is under renovation by Moline resident Felix Vallejo, who is seeking to raise $50,000 for heating, cooling and electrical work through the raffle. The tickets are $25 and are for sale from 10 to 11 a.m. every Saturday at Mac’s Skelly Gas Station, 820 5th Ave. Vallejo has been working for two years to renovate The Orpheum, abandoned since 2009 but once a thriving social spot for Moline’s Florecente neighborhood.
