Eddie Andrews kept on ballot after challenge
DES MOINES — State Rep. Eddie Andrews, R-Des Moines, will stay on Iowa’s ballot for governor, reports IPR. Andrews overcame a challenge to his candidacy by proving he had gathered the 3,500 signatures needed in 19 different counties to qualify for the ballot. Altogether, five Republicans are seeking the party’s nomination June 2 to run for Governor: Andrews, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra, former Iowa State Rep. Brad Sherman’ former administrative services director Adam Steen; and farmer Zach Lahn. The winner will face Iowa Auditor Rob Sand, the Democratic candidate, in November.
