You’ll be seeing even more of Viminda Schafer (above), fundraising and community relations coordinator for The Project, as TPQC expands The Village. This education project helps community members and groups dive deep into the issues and topics relevant to LGBTQ+ people. Schafer, who has a child with her wife, is also a board member for the nonprofit QC Pride that organizes the annual parade, and for Gilda’s Club, a nonprofit that helps people living with cancer. She surprised us by volunteering her thoughts about The Real Mainstream. “As a queer Asian woman, (I believe) the work TRM does to shine a spotlight on the voices of queer and BIPOC folks is life affirming and life saving.”
