With the theme of United in Pride, the Chicago Pride Parade kicks off with a focus on equality and justice. The LGBTQ+ youth nonprofit TaskForce Prevention & Community Services will lead the parade, and emcees this year are Dr. Maya Green of Onyx Medical Wellness, and infectious disease specialist Dr. Catherine Creticos. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up here.

"Considering Matthew Shepard" was written by Craig Hella Johnson to help tell teh story of Shepard, the young gay man in Wyoming whose 1998 murder inspired focused on hate crimes. "The piece incorporates personal writings, news reports, and interviews to create a deeply moving and evocative narrative." Performed by The Quire of Eastern Iowa.
